Word Made Flesh: The Unfolding Story of the Incarnation

In this series, we will explore the incarnation of Jesus by taking a biblical theological approach. We will examine how the Old Testament prepares the way for the incarnation through a variety of appearings, known as theophanies, and promises. We will then look at how the New Testament uncovers the mystery of the incarnation through the person and work of Christ. As we look back at the ministry of the Word made flesh, we are struck with a model of mission that calls the church to enter into the brokenness of this world with the Good News, that they too might enjoy the presence of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. In the words of the Apostle Paul, “I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22). As followers of Jesus, we must put on Christ, which means putting on the brokenness of this world, that some might know the wonder of experiencing Christ and His fullness!
