Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread

Speaker: Jonathan Sgalambro Series: The Lord's Prayer: Participating in Thy Kingdom Come Topic: Thankfulness, Prayer Scripture: Matthew 6:11, Exodus 16:1–12, John 6:22–51

Community Group Questions:

Engage Yourself:

When looking at the structure of the Lord’s Prayer, how do you think you measure up? Where do you spend most of your time, worshipping God, asking for stuff, or seeking forgiveness? Why do you think that is?

What sort of things would you categorize as “needs”, and do you think they are shaped by the kingdom and will of God or the cultural air we breathe? Explain.

Engage the Text:

Read through Exodus 16:1-36. What stands out to you in this passage? If you have time, do the same with John 6:22-59. What about these passages are most encouraging and challenging?

Engage your Neighbor:

In what ways can you help meet the physical needs of those in our own body and those in your neighborhood or extended family?

Engage your Family:

Continue memorizing the Lord’s Prayer as a family and talk with your children about the reality of what it means to go without. This could be an opportunity to fill and talk about the Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes as a family.
