Community Group Questions:
Engage Yourself:
What about this passage impacts you most? Why is that?
Have you ever felt like David in Psalms 3-7 and 10-14, oppressed, afflicted, hidden from God? What is it about Psalm 8 that brings hope? Think of this question in relation to our existence in comparison to the enormity of the universe, or “the heavens”.
Engage the Text:
Why do you think the Psalmist uses so much language from the creation stories of Genesis 1-3?
Verse 5 talks about humanity being “crowned with glory and honor”. What is it about that truth that brings you hope?
Engage your Neighbor:
This passage is all about the imago Dei (the image of God). In what ways might we use our “dominion” over God’s creation to show the world what God is like rather than adopt the image of Adam?
