Community Group Questions:

Engage Yourself:

What about this passage or sermon was most challenging for you? Was there anything that stood out that maybe you didn’t see before? Explain.

Engage the Text:

V.v. 6-8 speak of the humility of Christ. What is it about the humility of Jesus that might make us uncomfortable?

V.v. 9-11 speak of the exaltation of Christ. Why might the fact that Jesus’ exaltation being grounded in his humility be difficult for us to swallow, especially knowing what we know about the holiness of God?

Engage your Neighbor:

Paul presents Jesus as one who used his status and position for the good of others and the glory of the Father. In fact, he argues that this is what it means to be God. In what ways might God be calling you to use what he has given you for the good of others and the glory of the Father?
