Speaker: Jonathan Sgalambro Series: Citizens of Heaven: A Study in Philippians Topic: Heavenly Citizenship Scripture: Philippians 4:14–23

Community Group Questions:

Engage Yourself:

What about this series has been most challenging and encouraging? Why is that?

What is it about experiencing or “sharing” in the trouble of another that affects us so deeply? Explain the experience of having others “share” in your trouble, and how that enabled you to press on.

Engage the Text:

In v. 18, Paul talks about being “well supplied” because “he received from Epaphroditus the gifts” sent by the Philippians. He also talks about how “God will supply every need of” the Philippians in v. 19. Explain what you think Paul is trying to do by pointing to both the vertical and horizontal supply chains?

Identify some areas that stood out to you in our passage and/or the sermon this week? Why do you think that is?

Engage your Neighbor:

Take some time to think through some “trouble” that you know of in the lives of your friends, families, and neighbors. What are some practical ways you might “share” in their trouble?
